Baldock

Baldock has not got a Theatre and the nearest is the Letchworth Arts Centre, where exciting exhibitions, live shows and arts-related courses for children and adults are presented in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.We are in Letchworth Garden City town centre, next to shops, parking and other amenities, and open Monday to Saturday. Entry to the premises and exhibition galleries is free, and you can relax over a Fairtrade coffee or with a great home-made meal in our light and airy.

Berkhamsted has no theatre but has 3 theatres equal distance which are Hemel Hempstead which has the Hemel Hempstead Theatre Company. The Company (formerly the Hemel Hempstead Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society) has been putting on performances since 1925.  We have owned our own theatre, the Boxmoor Playhouse, since 1997.The Old Town Hall theatre offers the best of professional drama, music, dance, comedy, children’s theatre and the visual arts. Situated in the heart of Hemel Hempstead’s picturesque old town, the Old Town Hall has been a performing arts venue since 1978. It is a Grade 2 listed building constructed in 1852. Frayed Knot Theatre company, in Tring and the The Court Theatre, Pendley Tring,home of the Tring festival company.

The Ark is a brand new community theatre in the heart of Borehamwood. The 2.3million pound facility, funded by Hertsmere Borough Council and Hertswood school can be found on Hertswood school’s upper site.Designed through consultation with the community the Ark truly is a space for everyone to enjoy. It is a non profit making venture managed by Hertswood School so hire rates are affordable and the theatre is accessible to groups of all shapes and sizes.

Broxbourne Civic Hall is a multi-purpose venue which hosts a variety of events  and activities to suit all ages and interests, including, theatre. It is also the venue for the Broxbourne Theatre Company

Hatfield has not got its own theatre but is close to Welwyn Garden City which has 2 Theatres. The Barn Theatre Trust exists for all those people, young and old, interested in the Theatre, both on and off stage. Many of our members simply enjoy the social aspects for the Theatre. In addition to offering acting roles in plays, or opportunities to get involved back stage with creative teams. The other is the Campus West in the centre of Welwyn Garden City was built in 1973. Campus West was originally designed as a Theatre and Cinema for the local community. On entering the huge theatre bar, coffee shop and New Maynard Gallery on the first floor, the entire area is lined with work by local artists.

Hemel Hempstead

Hoddesdon Mayhem Theatre Arts: After discovering an old brewery barn in Hoddesdon Town Centre, they set about a renovation programme to create a facility that would become a focal point for all arts related activity throughout East Herts. By creating large dance, drama and singing studios.

Broxbourne Civic Hall is a unique multi-purpose venue which hosts a variety of events  and activities to suit all ages and interests, including theatre shows, comedy, bands, cinema, line dancing, tea dances and special events.

Letchworth has no theatre but is close to Hitchen.

Potters Bar has The Wyllyotts Theatre seats 421 people in retractable raked seating. The theatre can be hired for dance or drama shows, cinema screenings, exhibitions, dinner dances, school speech days and numerous other events.

The Radlett Players are a small but very active amateur dramatic Society that aim to put on two plays a year in the Spring and the Autumn in the Radlett Area. We have also completed a number of Open Air Summer shows in the Walled Garden in Shenley Park.

The Bancroft Players Amateur Dramatic Society was established as a local drama group at the end of the Second World War. Since 1983 the Society's home has been its own purpose built venue - The Queen Mother Theatre

St Albans has 3 theatres, The Alban Arena which  is a well established entertainment venue with a busy programme of National Touring Shows, Rock and Pop Concerts, Comedy, Films, Large Scale Exhibitions and the region's most popular Christmas Pantomime. The Maltings Art Theatre and The abbey Theatre great place to enjoy a pleasant evening at the theatre with friends.Comfortable 230 seat Main theatre and intimate 78 seat studio theatre.

Stevenage has the Gordon Craig Theatre in the town centre. The Gordon Craig Theatre has been entertaining audiences from across the home counties since it first opened its doors in 1975. This 501 seat theatre boasts a varied programme of live entertainment, ranging from one-night variety-music shows to week-long drama productions.The theatre has also maintained a proud tradition of presenting first rate Opera, Dance and Orchestral Concerts.

Tring has The Court Theatre, Pendley Tring,home of the Tring festival company.The Court Theatre presents events most weeks of the year and provides a wide range and variety of entertainment. There's something suitable for all ages - from full scale musicals to one person shows, plays to panto and music that covers all tastes from jazz to rock. The other theatre company is the Frayed Knot Theatre company

Watford Palace Theatre is an Edwardian, Grade II listed building and has been producing work for over one hundred years.
The 2002-2004, L8.8m Lottery Funded refurbishment has given audiences more public space, two bars, a daytime café, air cooling and new seating. Over 100,000 people visit the Palace Theatre each year to enjoy the theatre’s latest production or to have lunch or a drink in Café Purple.
